Frequently Asked Questions

Below you’ll find some of the most frequently asked questions we receive about the group in general. These by no means cover everything we get asked. That being said if you have any specific question or want more detailed information do not hesitate to reach out. We are here with the intent to build the Bitcoin community in Northwest Arkansas and that begins with clear communication and helping those interested.

What cryptocurrencies do you discuss?

Bitcoin only.

Does this cost anything?

We do not charge anything to attend our events, nor do we try to sell anything while there. A large part of Bticoin ethos is a free open source network that anyone can access, and we intend to operate the same as best we possibly can.

Are you on Twitter?

Yes we are!  You can find us at @NWABitcoin

Where else can I connect with you?

You can find us at all of the following. The most active engagement will be on the Telegram Chat and Twitter.

I know nothing about Bitcoin, will these events be over my head?

We are frequently asked this question, and the truth is no one is an expert on Bitcoin. We’re all at different points in our understanding and it is constantly evolving. The events we host vary in expertise, and we will most certainly have something that suites your needs.

How often do you meet?

We host a standing event on the third Tuesday every month. Please see the “Events” tab at the top of the page to see any others that fall outside of the regular monthly meet up.

What topics do you discuss?

We cover a wide range of topics. A few of the more popular ones include self-custody best practices, privacy tools and home mining. Every now again we will host a well known speaker from the overarching Bitcoin community for a deep dive into their specialty.

Do you host workshops?

Historically we host a few workshops a year. However, we aim to host many more as we grow. Hands on, in person advice is invaluable in one’s journey to proper use of bitcoin.

Where do you meet?

Unfortunately, we do not have consistent meeting spot at this time. We are constantly working to find this location that we can use as needed, but have yet to discover it. Please do reach out if you have a suggestion.
